The easiest way to manage product end of life is to make decisions and set expectations with customers right up front. Many or perhaps most smaller businesses rarely get to this, and as a result they are years into their business plan with lots of customers using older versions of the product. Those older versions cost the business money and decrease the bottom line. Eventually the expectations need to be set with those customers - upgrade or pay. We can help businesses manage either challenge. We can help put a product retirement plan in place before it is needed, and we can help talk with customers and help them understand the business need and ultimately how they need to be a partner. This is a sensitive negotiation but if it is approached showing that the business really wants to take care of it's customers, it can be successful.
